She appeared as young Nithya in the 2012 Malayalam action comedy film, Mallu Singh.

She brought to life the character of Anu, one of the daughters of Rambabu and Jyothi, in the 2014 Telugu-language thriller film, Drushyam. This role won Esther the 2015 Santosham Film Award for “Best Child Actor”.

Alongside Kamal Haasan, Gautami, Niveda Thomas, Asha Sarath, Kalabhavan Mani, and Jagannathan, Esther Anil co-starred as Meena Suyambulingam in the Tamil-language drama thriller film, Papanasam, in 2015. For this role, she received the 2016 Kerala Film Critics Association Award in the “Best Child Artist” category.

She served as the host for the Malayalam-language reality television singing competition show, Top Singer, in 2018.
